Reflection

We all know that special children and normal children have a difference but both have similarities. Special children can also play, has a talent, and has perspective in life but special children needs to have more attention and extra help to develop their social skills. Parents should have extra careful in their special children because they have special needs to be attended. Unlike with the normal kids they can easily gain friends and understand everything but special child need guidance in their learning and it is difficult to them to mingle other people. Also need to be understood especially those people who really surrounded them. Every one of us has a right in this society so they also have the right because they are belong on it. They have the right to choose whoever they want to become and whatever they want to be in life as long as we guide them and give them our attention. They must be respected also even though they have disabilities. Their happiness and joy is the most important in their life.Being a teacher I must know and understands student’s needs, how they are motivated, and how they learn. I should be a motivator, counsellor, inspiration, and a facilitator rather than a direction. I must always prepared of different strategies and techniques in teaching my students by that we can produce a good product and I can also tell that I’m one of the professor who helped that child to gain his or her dreams. I should help the learner find their own ways of learning. As a teacher I need to have a positive attitudes and outside interest which helps develop a well-rounded personality. We must help our students even if he or she is a special child because they need our help to become better. You should also think that being a teacher is just not the money we get but to help children who are willing to learn, willing to participate and to help them learn what is real life all about, they need our guidance to pursue their dreams. We should also monitor the way we teach because sometimes we teacher already mistaken on how to teach children. We should also consider the feelings of our students we need to have collaboration with them to have a managed class. For me in handling a class is not easy because they are different characteristics of a child which we need to be more observant on that so that we can see who is really needed our help. By doing like that it will be easier for us to handle the class and it will be easier to the student to adjust the environment and to adjust the way we teach them because students already know that we will be doing our best to make them feel comfortable when they are learning and they already trusted us. I also learned that going beyond of the life your student is also good because we can help both our student and their parents realized that they should also need to have understanding to each other because children also has the right. If I will be given a chance to teach a special child I would be having a positive outlook and encouraging attitudes in order for them to be inspired despite of their disabilities also I should be open minded always and flexible to anything because special child their mood is always changing. I should facilitate my class in the right direction for the betterment. Nowadays many teachers are just teaching because of money they don’t even value what they are doing and that kind of teacher should be avoided because it is not a good example. The good example that we need to follow is the teacher in the movie which Mr. Nikumbh who really do his best to help a student who always get scolded and who is suffering from dyslexia. he is a good example because he really value his profession he didn’t mind about the money but he mind about the future of the students, the life of the students, he really helped the students to achieve their goals in life and he also using different strategies, and techniques which can be helpful to us teacher on handling a class or student. Being patience, and know how to understand feeling is a great gift that we can be share to others. We need teach them everything from the curriculum to the real world because I do believe that children really trust teacher who is nice to them, whom they like and most especially to a teacher who knows how to understand their feelings. That is why being a teacher is not an easy profession because we have different role in the life of our students; we can be their second parent, friend, bodyguard, chef, nurse, even enemy. That is why we should value each of our student because later on they will realized that we are a big help to their success, without us there is no, engineer, manager, nurse, lawyer, doctor, and many more. Because teacher produces a good quality of students and also the teacher should be proud of that because we make an effort just for them to be a successful one like us. Always remember teach with all your heart not with the money you get.

Analysis

A boy named Ishaan is having dyslexia and he needs to be guided on his study because he has a problem in writing and reading. As I saw the movie I realized that we need to be patience to this kind of kids because they are not like the same with normal child that they can easly understand what you want them to do.

          In the movie Mr. nikumbh an art teacher who is understanding teacher, he helped a lot Ishaan to learn especially in writing and reading, he never give up on the boy because he believe that Ishaan has a talent which he can showcase to everyone despite of having a dyslexia. At first, the surroundings of Ishaan really don’t know why Ishaan is like that, they just think that he is just Hard headed and too lazy and also they think that he is a normal kid but it is not he is a special. Even teacher don’t know how to handle Ishaan they always scolded Ishaan and say something negative that can affect Ishaan’s learning. Until one day Mr. Nikumbh arrived and both of them meet each other and later on Mr. Nikumbh discover that Ishaan is having Dyslexia and thanks to him he helped a lot Ishaan. He makes some strategies that Ishaan will be easily understand and remember what he has learned today. He uses different kinds of instructional materials just to help Ishaan in his study. He also let Ishaan discover what his talent and he practice it well. Mr. Nikumbh prove to the parents of Ishaan that despite of having dyslexia he can still managed Ishaan, he can still teach Ishaan well and he can make Ishaan a better man and by that he really proved it. Ishaan’s parents were very thankful to have Mr. Nikumbh part of Ishaans life.

          So the story tells about how a boy that is having dyslexia became a better one. Also, by the help of Mr. Nikumbh Ishaan overcomes it against all odd, he can now understand everything all we need is patience and be proud that you are teaching a person that is suffering something and you are inspiring them to pursue their dreams. In this movie also it shows how the parent accepts the fact that their child is special and how they are proud when their son is making better at school. The only thing that Ishaan need is the attention and guidance in learning. Also, it shows how a teacher tried his best to tell the parents of the Ishaan that their son is having disabilities.

This movie was an excellent example to those parents that is busy always, to those parent that has a child like them, to the students who needs to be motivated or inspired and especially to every teacher that is now teaching, also to the soon teacher because we can get different moral lesson. Also we can saw in this movie how the teacher motivate his student, different strategies and techniques just to let his students learn, how to handle a class, how to tell the parents of the students’ performance in class, how to facilitate the class to become more enjoyable and how will you make your students not bored on to your class and lastly, in this movie we can saw how to go beyond to each of your students life for us teacher understand what life they are having because that is one of the reason that can affect the students learning and they cannot concentrate because of having a negative surroundings, trauma’s, fear, and sadness. So if we already know the reason we teacher must do some action to help them become motivated and strong. Mr. Nikumbh really did a good job in helping his students not only to his students but also the parent of Ishaan and his co-teacher that teaching is not just following the curriculum or what is said to be but rather teaching is the way to help student prepare their future and to go beyond on it, to discover how special a child it is. Because I do believe that every child it can be special or normal child is special. They just need to let them out what they want in life.

Task

The main task there is to help Ishaan on his Study despite of his Dyslexia. Mr. Nikumbh is one of the teachers of Ishaan who really helped him a lot. It needs to have different strategy, techniques to help him improve in the class. Also, to gain his confidence, and to prove that he is belong to the society because some people think that this kind of children needs to be separated which is not good because we cannot help them be confident and show their talents to everyone if the normal people will avoid them.

          At first we cannot really tell if one of our students is having dyslexia if we will not observe them and if we also don’t know the theory behind dyslexia. Also, the teacher needs to motivate and guide the child for them to be inspired. Having a student like this we really need to have an attention to that because they really need help from us for them to be better. We should understand their situation because we are the one who knows about what they are suffering right now and by that they will trust us and help their self to be more active in the class.

           Being a teacher is a noble job because we do our best for us to help our student. So a teacher must know the needs of the students, how they are motivated and how they learn. Teacher should give opportunity to the student to explore everything that can help them in their learning’s. In sharing our knowledge to our student, we need to have strategies, techniques in order for us to be easy to let them learn. So our task is to impart our knowledge to them, help them achieve their goals, inspired them, and we should let them discover what will be they want in life, we should let them feel that they are not alone that we are here to inspired them despite of his/her negative surroundings and being a teacher is not like just teaching them what is curriculum said but we need to teach them what is life all about and how they will mingled other people with respect and one of the reason why parents want their child go to school is to discipline them and have a good performance in class, also to develop their skills well, and lastly is in preparing to their future life for them not to have difficulties in life and they will become an independent one which they can already handle their self. So we teacher and those soon to be teacher we are the one who really helping them. So as a teacher we should help them build their confident in life and help them achieve what they want and we will let them feel that they are also important despite of their disabilities. Lastly, we will help them discover their talent and enhance their skills in order to show to everyone that even though they have disabilities they can be part in the society and mingle everyone and be happy and make good memories in this world.

Situation

There was a boy named Ishaan Awasthi who is suffering from dyslexia. Unfortunately, his parents don’t know about what Ishaan suffering right now. His parents think that he is just a hard headed boy and lazy. He is very opposite with his brother Yohan who is smart and he makes their parents proud to him, he also wake up early and prepare his things in school, unlike with Ishaan he always makes his parents mad at him, and he is always woke up late. In class, he is always scolded because his answers are all wrong and sometimes he will say that “The letters are dancing”, and he is always imagining colors, fish, dogs, and other things that are moving. He also got home with very dirty look and he will not change his clothes, he will just directly go outside and play with their neighbours but his neighbours don’t want to play with him that is why he just plays with the dogs.

          When he was at school one of his classmate ask if he already let his paper work signed by his parents. Unfortunately he didn’t let his parents signed the paper works because it is failed. That is why he runs away before his teacher will come in. he go to the street and road, he even don’t know where to go because he thinks that is only the way to escape of having punishment. He went back to the school and he waited at the school bus until the class ended. When he got home he never tell someone except to his brother Yohan. When he told Yohan what happened his brother was shocked and Ishaan asked favour to his older brother to make excuse letter for him. At first Yohan refuse to make a letter but his younger brother beg him so at the end he did because he don’t want that Ishaan will get scolded again. But their father discovered it because Ishaan forgot to get the note in the magazine where his father is reading on it. So Ishaan was scolded and because of angriness of his father, his father and mother went to the school and they discover Ishaan poor performance in school and the principal advises the parents of Ishaan to let them Ishaan study on a special education but his parent don’t believe on it because they really think that their son is just a hard headed that is why his father decided to enrol Ishaan on a boarding school so that he will be disciplined.

          Things are still the same, Ishaan don’t know how to read well and write and the worst thing is Ishaan got trauma because of separation of his family which can be burden to his mind and the tendency is Ishaan cannot concentrate to the class.

          One day a new art teacher came with joy and optimism. The student was very enjoy of what he did in the class. His name is Ram Shankar Nikumbh. After his introduction in the class he let the students draw something that comes into their minds. All the children draw or paint except to Ishaan. So Mr. Nikumbh thinks of something that he can help Ishaan. Later on Mr. Nikumbh realized that Ishaan is not happy on his situation right now and he also discovered that Ishaan is having Dyslexia. Mr. Nikumbh went to the parents of Ishaan and he tells them that Ishaan is suffering from Dyslexia and their child is special. Again the father of Ishaan didn’t believe it but Mr. Nikumbh discover something that Ishaan is good of making art. After having a conversation with the parents of Ishaan he went back to the school. Mr. Nikumbh see Ishaan and he gave some of his work wich is Ishaan was touch. On the next day Mr. Nikumbh share a story in the class of a student who is having difficulties in writing and reading. Ishaan was scared when Mr. Nikumbh revealed the person behind the story because he thinks that he was the person who he meant, unfortunately he was wrong because it was Einstein, Leonardo da Vinci and Picasso. As days goes by Mr. Nikumbh help Ishaan in everything especially in writing and reading.

The school is helding a competition which is all students, teachers and staff will be involved. Ishaan woke up and left early, he went to his favorate place and when the competition begins everyone is excited and enjoy but Ishaan is still not there. After a few minutes Mr. Nikumbh saw Ishaan coming so he immediately give him a drawing paper and both of them started to paint. The announcement of winner was made; both of them win in the competition. There painting will be a touch on their year book which is the front page will be the work of Ishaan and the Front page is the work of Mr. Nikumbh. The teacher and the family of Ishaan were very happy and proud to him. Then the parents of Ishaan especially the father is very thankful to Mr. Nikumbh which is one of the reason why Ishaan change a lot and who did not give up on the boy. Ishaan also thankful to him because he really helped Ishaan a lot and he do his best to make Ishaan to be a better man despite of his dyslexia. The movie was entitled “Like Star on Earth, Every Child is Special”.
